A lot of fuss has been raised in Romania about an alleged “vandalism” of a few offroad-vehicle owners, accusing them of driving where they shouldn’t and damaging private property. It was covered in this article, which put Facebook on fire with hate speach coming from various “hikers” and so called “ecologists”.

I don’t speak Romanian, but as far as I can understand, the only “sin” that these people have commited is:
1) They dared to park in the space where other people camp, instead of staying down where they’ve parked their cars (which are not capable to move further in the first place).
2) They’ve used a few broken planks from a fence of an abandoned shepperd hut for their campfire instead of searching for firewood in the forest.
And NOBODY has presented us with solid, photographic evidence of the extent of “destruction” they have caused – just a completely useless picture of hikers coming across a wild camping area with a mixed structure of tents and vehicles?! I guess, aimed at the “emotions” of those who get an urge to vomit the moment they spot a vehicle next to anything green?

On basis of that, car haters all over Facebook are raving with an open call for a lynch, suggesting that people should cut their tyres and retaliate in other, destructive ways. Well, to me this whole “incident” sounds like pure bullshit, a rage staged by haters and followed by mindless people who’re lazy to use a single neuron to think about it. Of course they will park their offroader in the camping area, because, unlike regular passanger cars, offroad vehicles are most often used as a substitute for tents themselves, either by sleeping IN the cars, or in rooftop tents (which are mounted ON the cars). So, unlike passanger cars, they ARE CAMPING EQUIPMENT! And for burning the planks – in the mountains you often come accross fences which are rotten, and have fallen from age, and there’s nobody to repair them – simply because those shepperd huts aren’t used anymore. Even the wooden houses are collapsing on their own. So condemning somone for using the now useless wood as firewood is, to say the least, very, very pretentious.
Unfortunately, every year the hikers are becoming a less tollerant horde of morons roaming around nature, so we can only expect the future in which they’re taking “justice” into their hands by executing the offroaders that they meet in places where they feel they shouldn’t be ?
Looks like Romania is also lost to the moronic, eco-fascist “culture”…
